What is PT-141?
PT-141 (bremelanotide) is a cyclic heptapeptide melanocortin receptor agonist and an active metabolite of melanotan II.
What it's studied for
PT-141 is the melanocortin ligand with the strongest central-nervous-system research record, and is characterised primarily at MC3R and MC4R. It is used as a reference agonist in melanocortin receptor pharmacology.
